CERTIFIED REIKI GRAND MASTER/TEACHER

Born and raised on the unceded Territory of the Coastal Tsimshian First Nations on Kaien Island, I've been attuned to the subtle life force energies since childhood. It wasn't until a personal healing crisis, and subsequent recovery, that I began to pursue energy healing as a means to achieve my own mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well being.

With over 12 years experience in the helping profession I am also a certified Reiki Grand Master/Teacher, Crystal Reiki Master/Teacher, Karuna Ki Practitioner/Teacher, and Theta Healing™ Practitioner

Reiki is a Japanese form of traditional energy healing, rediscovered By Dr. Mikao Usui in 1922. It is in fact part of an ancient tradition present in many cultures, but lost to the world. Translated, Reiki means"Universal Life Force." Using this ancient healing modality Universal Life Force energy (also known as Chi, Ki/Qi or Prana) is channeled through the practitioner's hands, and the recipient's body absorbs the energy to create positive physical, mental, emotional and spiritual outcomes. Reiki is a complimentary therapy to be used alongside western medicine and other therapies, as part of a holistic approach to your well-being. With an educational background in Nursing Science, its important to me that my energy work is  evidence based, while honoring my deeply spiritual nature. Fortunately several peer reviewed studies have been published over the last 20 years chronicling the positive affects of energy healing. One such study titled, "Performance Brief: Using Reiki to Support Surgical Patients" by Patricia Alandydy, Assistant Director, Surgical Services, Columbia Regional Hospital published in April 1999 in the Journal of Nursing Care Quality, showed that "Reiki invokes a profound relaxation response which lowers blood pressure, and heart rate, thus enhancing the body's natural ability to heal itself. It also helps patients reduce stress pre-operatively and induces a calming affect that has reduced the amount of pain medication required post-operatively at [Columbia] hospital."
